This constant demand leads to high divorce rates and significant personal sacrifices, as the job requires irregular hours and extensive time away from home.

The railroad industry is heavily unionized, where job advancements are based not on merit but on seniority. This system often leaves newer employees in less desirable positions for extended periods. During my time, I witnessed firsthand how these conditions affect workers’ morale and job satisfaction.
